This is new to me blogging, so hold on to my coat tails & come along for the Journey.
I was the 5th daughter to a loving family; there are many great memories of my childhood growing up in the Grand Hotel in Toowoomba from 8 months old to about 8 years I think. As you can imagine getting 5 girls ready for school was a mission, we were lucky that the bus stop was only minutes away from the hotel. There were many mornings the bus driver would be at the front door of the hotel honking the bus horn & we would run out laughing.
When I was 13 years old my parents went back into the hotel, there are certainly some great stories I will share with you later. As a teenager my skin was getting PIMPLES ….OMG I wanted to hide so no one could see me. I was a wild natural style of girl, (still am at times) so I got books on how to make home remedies for skin went to the health food store and started making these crazy lotions & potions for my skin.
When I was 20 years old with no direction I was looking in the paper for a course to do. There were two that caught my eye, Beauty Therapy & Media Marketing. So I choose Beauty Therapy which has been my life for 32 years.
In 2006 I stepped out of my comfort zone and formulated a 3 step skin care range. WHAT A JOURNEY!! I had to borrow $1,000 for research & development for a single mum was a big thing. I launched in Jan 2007 did lots of Bridal Expos throughoutAustralia, onlinemarketing, Google add words & more the business was growing.
Then someone said “Do TV advertising your sales will go through the roof”. I was a sponge and soaked up what people told me to do. Change your website, TV ads & then you will be a BIG business.
So this I did spent $$$ on new website, TV production, Air Time & as my production for product turn around was 3 months I ordered 3000 units (which is one pack of TDOY) WOW that was allot of money into the business & borrowed.
Well I learnt a BIG lesson, TV adds where a FLOP, Web Hosting company $500 a month & online sales where dismal. I had lots my MOJO for the business over 3 years made money & lost $40,000. So had enough and walked away.
APRIL 2011 I had earned some extra money from my Anti Aging Clinic and was selling beautiful product from other companies. As I ask the UNIVERSE for direction in life & business I got a message and that was to RELAUNCH my 3 step skincare calling it TDOY – The Door of Youth ®.
June 2011 TDOY was at my clinic and walking out the door. My passion is for TDOY to become a household name for women in Australia.
THIS TIME I am the leader of the direction the company & if need advise ask the universe and research areas before making any choices. I have learnt so much over the past 12 months on social media, meet some fantastic business women who share there knowledge.
So here we are 12th July 2012 what will the next 12 months bring to TDOY. Stay tuned I hope you become a Raving Fan of TDOY community & skincare.
